For a greener grocery industry
ECR Europe is a joint trade and industry body that was launched in 1994 to make the grocery sector more responsive to consumer demand and promote greater efficiency in the supply chain. Boxwood are coordinating the Sustainable Transport Project within ECR Europe.
This project involves over 30 organisations across Europe, including major retailers, manufacturers, service providers and industry bodies. It is focused on helping businesses to reduce the environmental impact of transport in Europe in a way that is socially and economically sustainable. This vision is being delivered through a pragmatic self-assessment tool that enables organisations to assess their supply chain and transport activities against industry best practice. Organisations can then develop their own road map for implementation across their businesses.
Our role has been to facilitate and lead development of the assessment tool and suggested implementation road maps.
