Two major PLCs had recently merged, bringing together their respective people, assets and consolidated annual budgets. We were approached to help with a cost cutting exercise that would be necessary to bridge a £25m profit expectation gap.
Working with the joint client team we pieced together data from all corners of the business. A revised ‘Purchased Services’ budget was prepared that was activity driven and a guide to managing suppliers was set up.
We left the organisation with improved financial health, improved performance management of its suppliers and a higher level of capability across the business.
The project delivered £24m annualised savings and was short-listed for ‘Project of the Year Award’ at the company’s annual award ceremony.
