Project recovery

We were asked by our partners to support the recovery of a major airport construction project that was experiencing significant delays and needed urgent attention.

Using methods we had coached them in, the project team implemented a new shift planning and works order fulfilment process which in turn prevented the late handover of work.

New production targets were set and site efficiency was dramatically increased, leading to an improvement in production rates (in some cases by 150%).

The new production and reporting process now focussed on critical path items rather than on arbitrary milestones that gave a perception of control without truly driving value. This enabled the team to reverse the project slippage and gave them the clarity to deal with important issues as they arose. Following a 6-month recovery, the project was handed over on time.
